Hi
I have a Opel Frontera 2.4i and I am wondering if there is a possibility to put a locker in the rear-axle.
After I searched the whole web out for details, I found out that the Isuzu Rodeo uses a different rear-axle as the Frontera's (<1998). I am not pleased with this because the Isuzu's use a Dana 44 rear-axle in which you can place different kinds of lockers and I think the Frontera doesn't have a very common axle. I am looking for a 100% locker like a ARB airlocker or a Powertrax Lock-right, not the standard
40% limited slip.
Anyone know what kind of axle it is and if there are some locker options ??
EDIT Berndte: Bild verkleinert ... Bitte auf die Abmessungen achten!

Hi there!
As far as I know the Frontera A 2.4i has the DANA 44
Just check here!
So there should be plenty of room for a locker.
Once we had a guy here who built in some 100% Air Lockers in his Frontera A Sport 2.0i
Maybe he reads this too and will answer you!

hi dutchfrontera
nice to meet you here in this forum,
unfortunately nobody has changed the rear axle here so far as I know.
I know some guys they have changed to airlockers 100% front and rear, but in another forum.
this is the thread - most probably you have to be registered in that forum otherwise you cant open it.
I ll hope reading you again
Walter

| But the diff. pattern of the dana 44 is completely different and there are 10 bolts on it while mine got 12 (impossible to see in the picture; covered by mud), is it possible that Opel built a dana 44 in another axelcase ?? If it is a dana 44 I will be glad to hear that because there are lots of lockers for it.

| It is a DANA44 but I think they modified the box from 10-bolt to 12-bolt.

Thanks,
The diff in your pic is a d44 but I only count 10 cover bolts??
Maybe Opel putted it in a new box because of the high R&P of 1:4.88 or 1:5.13,
al the isuzu are driving 1:4.3 or lower as far as I know

Are you sure about this, I know the Frontera B is driving on a D44, the bolt pattern is exact the same but why would they modify the box for the A serials?
P.S. nice frontera on your pic Dirk, mine is in the same color
Angefügt nach 1 Minuten:
Now I read on a Deutch forum: It is a Isuzu 12 bolt, 30 or 28 spline.
Is there anyone who can confirm this?
